Disk Space Monitor adds an icon (or multiple icons, if desired) to the Windows 95 or NT System Tray, showing the current disk space usage as a pie chart.
Installation
------------
Disk Space Monitor doesn't have an installation program. All that's required is the program itself (DiskMon.exe) and the VB5 Runtime DLL (MSVBVM50.DLL). The runtime file is available from my homepage (URL below) or Windows95.com (http://www.windows95.com)
Once downloaded, put the runtime file into the Windows\System directory and DiskMon.exe into the directory of your choice. Then, create the usual shortcuts for your Desktop and Start Menu.
Usage
-----
If DiskMon is run with no command line options, it will add a chart for the current drive (or, if that's not possible, the drive that Windows is installed on) to the system tray.
To specify a specific drive (or to set multiple drives) as the default, use the Settings option. Alternatively, it is possible to specify the required drives as command line options. Just use the letter of the drive (i.e. don't add the colon) and don't include any spaces. For example, to start Disk Space Monitor logging drives C, D, F and H use the following command line:
DiskMon.exe CDFH
Known Issues
------------
When selecting drives in the Settings window, you must double-click the appropriate drive to check/uncheck it. I'll try and add support for the keyboard and clicking on the checkbox in the future.
In some installations, Disk Space Monitor requires an updated system DLL. This becomes apparent when you load Dial-Up Monitor and receive the following messages:
"The file MSVBVM50.DLL is linked to the the exported routine OLEAUT32.DLL:421 which is not present"
To fix this, download the following file from my homepage and unzip into your \Windows\System directory:
